"Unspeakable" was the next phase of the 2015 "Seals for Souls" project, which centred around realities of unplanned pregnancy and abortion in Hong Kong.

Young people in Hong Kong are placed at a disadvantage by a conservative society with poor sex education, a situation made worse by a double-edged blade of ridicule and ostracisation. Crisis pregnancies, and the resultant abortions, are a symptom of a system that fails to protect its children.

I believe that foeti have lives. Abortion remains killing a person. The physical and psychological impact of abortion on women is life-long. I support women’s autonomy, and I believe true autonomy should begin with knowing how to protect oneself, rather than being forced to make an impossible decision.

These problems arise from things that are unspeakable.

This participatory art project welcomes all to take part in exploring what is unspeakable in Hong Kong.
